Process of modifying surface of a composite material base unit

A process of modifying a surface of a composite material base unit, the process comprising:

• a. providing the composite material base unit;
• b. pressing at least one impression module of a modifying unit on the surface of the composite material base unit to form at least one surface geometry on the surface;
• c. optionally heating the surface of the composite material base unit by heating before pressing, during pressing, after pressing, or combinations thereof;
• d. utilizing the modified composite material base unit as an article of construction or vehicle spare part, wherein the article of construction or vehicle spare part is optionally a compression limiter or reinforcement bar,
• wherein the composite material base unit comprises a resilient material, a covering material or a combination thereof, wherein the at least one impression module includes at least one protrusion, and/or at least one depression configured to form the surface geometry on the surface, wherein the composite material base unit is a compression limiter or a composite rebar and wherein the composite material base unit comprises a thermoplastic composite.
