Seawater desalination equipment

Seawater desalination equipment comprising:

• a gas generation unit configured to evaporate seawater to generate a mixed gas comprising water vapor and at least one non-condensable gas;
• a condensation unit configured to receive the mixed gas and to condense the water vapor to generate freshwater, the condensation unit comprising a plurality of condensation pipes disposed upright in a vertical direction and connected to each other in a U-shape such that the mixed gas passes through the plurality of condensation pipes;
• a cooling unit configured to lower a temperature of the condensation unit by supplying seawater to outer surfaces of the plurality of condensation pipes and evaporating the supplied seawater;
• a gas storage unit connected to the condensation unit through a gas connection line provided with a valve, the gas storage unit configured to store gas remaining after condensation in the condensation unit;
• a vacuum pump configured to discharge gas stored in the gas storage unit to an outside area;
• a plurality of temperature sensors provided on the plurality of condensation pipes and configured to measure temperatures of the plurality of condensation pipes;
• and
• a control unit configured to:
• determine accumulation of the at least one non-condensable gas in the condensation unit based on temperature variations detected by the plurality of temperature sensors, by determining that the non-condensable gas has accumulated when a temperature of a final condensation pipe is higher than temperatures of other condensation pipes;
• open the valve, in response to the determined accumulation, to allow gas remaining in the condensation unit to flow to the gas storage unit;
• and
• operate the vacuum pump to discharge gas from the gas storage unit to the outside area.
