Abstract
A wearable medical device includes: a spatial sensor configured to determine distance to objects in an environment in front of the spatial sensor; an acoustic signal generator operable to generate an acoustic signal; a processor; and a memory configured to store instructions which, when executed the processor, cause the wearable medical device to: detect, using the spatial sensor, objects in the environment, calculate the distance to objects detected in the environment, and when the distance to an object is less than a predetermined value, control the acoustic signal generator to generate a first alert.
Claims20
A wearable medical device comprising:
- a spatial sensor configured to determine distance to objects in an environment in front of the spatial sensor;
- an acoustic signal generator operable to generate an acoustic signal;
- an acoustic sensor configured to detect environmental acoustic signals;
- a light source;
- a processor;
- and
- a memory configured to store instructions which, when executed the processor, cause the wearable medical device to:
- detect, using the spatial sensor, the objects in the environment,
- calculate the distance to the objects detected in the environment,
- determine that the distance to an object is less than a predetermined value,
- control the acoustic signal generator to generate a first alert,
- control the acoustic sensor to detect environmental acoustic signals,
- control the acoustic signal generator to generate alerts having acoustic properties that are selected based on the environmental acoustic signals detected,
- determine that the acoustic sensor detected environmental acoustic signals, and
- control the light source to flash and actuate or prevent the acoustic signal generator from generating the acoustic signal based on a value of the environmental acoustic signals relative to a first predetermined value and a second predetermined value.
A computer-implemented method of using a wearable medical device the computer-implemented method comprising:
- detecting, using a spatial sensor of the wearable medical device, objects in an environment, the wearable medical device comprising the spatial sensor, a processor, an acoustic signal generator, an acoustic sensor, a light source and a memory;
- calculating a distance to the objects detected in the environment;
- in response to determining that the distance to an object is less than a predetermined value, controlling the acoustic signal generator to generate an acoustic alert;
- controlling the acoustic sensor to detect environmental acoustic signals,
- controlling the acoustic signal generator to generate alerts having acoustic properties that are selected based on the environmental acoustic signals detected,
- determining that the acoustic sensor detected environmental acoustic signals, and
- controlling the light source to flash and actuating or preventing the acoustic signal generator from generating the acoustic signal based on a value of the environmental acoustic signals relative to a first predetermined value and a second predetermined value.
