Abstract
Systems and methods for delivering an implantable sensor assembly into a vascular structure. The sensor assembly is capable of detecting one or more physiological parameters of a patient and generating sensor data. The one or more physiological parameters may be indicative of blood flow through the vascular structure. The sensor assembly may wirelessly transmit the sensor data to a receiver.
Claims16
An implantable sensor system capable of being implanted within an intracranial saccular aneurysm of a patient, the sensor system comprising:
- a sensor capable of detecting one or more physiological parameters of the patient and generating sensor data, wherein the sensor comprises a glucose sensor and the one or more physiological parameters comprises glucose in the blood of the patient;
- and
- an antenna assembly in electrical communication with the sensor, the antenna assembly comprising a plurality of at least five antennae wrapped around the sensor and forming a spherical structure that encloses the sensor, the spherical structure configured to fit within the intracranial aneurysm and to anchor the system within the intracranial aneurysm, the antenna assembly configured to transmit sensor data related to the one or more physiological parameters of the patient to a receiver, the antenna assembly capable of being compressed for loading into a delivery system and expanded upon release from the delivery system.
An implantable sensor system capable of being implanted within an intracranial saccular aneurysm of a patient, the sensor system comprising:
- a sensor capable of detecting one or more physiological parameters of a patient and generating sensor data, wherein the sensor comprises a glucose sensor and the one or more physiological parameters comprises glucose in the blood of the patient and a conductivity switch configured to detect a presence of fluid above a threshold amount;
- an antenna assembly in electrical communication with the sensor, the antenna assembly comprising a plurality of at least five antennae wrapped around the sensor and forming a spherical structure that encloses the sensor, the spherical structure configured to fit within the intracranial aneurysm and to anchor the system within the intracranial aneurysm, the antenna assembly configured to transmit sensor data related to the one or more physiological parameters of the patient to a receiver, the antenna assembly capable of being compressed for loading into a delivery system and expanded upon release from the delivery system;
- and
- wherein the implantable sensor system is configured to fit within an intracranial aneurysm of the patient, and the system comprises a radiopaque marker selected to allow identification of the location of the system within the intracranial space of the patient.
