Sole structure for article of footwear

A sole structure for an article of footwear, the sole structure comprising:

• a midsole including;
• a casing including a first surface and a second surface disposed opposite the first surface, the first surface of the casing including a recess;
• and
• a core disposed within the recess of the casing;
• and
• an outsole coupled to the midsole and including:
• a forefoot plate coupled with the casing, the forefoot plate formed by a forefoot skeleton having a first flexibility nested within a forefoot shell having a second flexibility that is less than the first flexibility, the forefoot plate including a first plurality of traction elements;
• and
• a heel plate coupled with the casing, the heel plate formed by a heel skeleton having a third flexibility nested within a heel shell having a fourth flexibility that is less than the third flexibility, the heel plate separate and distinct from the forefoot plate and including a second plurality of traction elements,
• wherein the forefoot shell and the heel shell are separate and distinct.

A sole structure for an article of footwear, the sole structure comprising:

• a midsole;
• an outsole coupled to the midsole and including:
• a forefoot plate including a first plurality of traction elements;
• and
• a heel plate separate and distinct from the forefoot plate and including a second plurality of traction elements;
• and
• a shank coupled with the midsole and interposed between the forefoot plate and the heel plate, the shank including a first surface disposed adjacent to the midsole and a second surface disposed opposite the first surface, the shank including one or more ribs extending longitudinally along the first surface of the shank,
• wherein an outer periphery of the shank is configured to mate with the forefoot plate at an anterior end of the shank and to mate with the heel plate at a posterior end of the shank.
