Hydraulic spray nozzle

A nozzle for an agricultural spraying implement, the nozzle comprising:

• a nozzle body configured to mount to a distribution line to receive liquid for spraying;
• a flowpath extending through the nozzle body between the distribution line and a spray outlet wherein the flowpath includes an inlet path extending from the distribution line to an intersection, a spray path extending from the intersection through which a spray portion of the liquid flows to the spray outlet, and a bleed path extending from the intersection, wherein the bleed path extends from the intersection to a bleed valve such that a portion of the bleed path is disposed between the intersection and the bleed valve;
• the bleed valve in the nozzle body disposed in the bleed path downstream of the intersection and configured to control flow of the liquid through the bleed path, wherein the bleed valve is an active valve controllable between an open state fluidly connecting the inlet path and a portion of the bleed path downstream of the bleed valve, and a closed state fluidly disconnecting the flowpath;
• an orifice valve in the nozzle body separate from the bleed valve and disposed on the flowpath and configured to control flow of a spray portion of the liquid through the spray outlet;
• and
• at least one parameter sensor configured to generate parameter data regarding the spray portion;
• wherein the nozzle is configured to communicate with a controller such that the controller actuates the bleed valve to a bleed position based on the parameter data to allow the bleed portion of the liquid to flow through the bleed path and to control a flowrate of the spray portion of the liquid through the spray path.
