Abstract
Disclosed here is an RF source comprising first, and second RF pulse generators arranged to deliver RF pulses for a particle accelerator and a controller arranged to control the first and second RF pulse generators to generate pulses sequentially.
Claims20
An RF source for a radiotherapy device, comprising:
- a first RF pulse generator;
- a second RF pulse generator wherein the first RF pulse generator and the second RF pulse generator are arranged to deliver RF pulses to a particle accelerator;
- and
- a controller arranged to:
- control the first RF pulse generator and the second RF pulse generator to generate pulses sequentially;
- control the first RF pulse generator to generate pulses under one or more fixed operating conditions;
- and
- alter a pulse-repetition frequency of the second RF pulse generator.
A method of operating an RF source for a radiotherapy device comprising a first RF pulse generator and a second RF pulse generator arranged to deliver RF pulses to a particle accelerator, the method comprising:
- controlling the first RF pulse generator and the second RF pulse generator to generate pulses sequentially;
- controlling the first RF pulse generator to generate pulses under one or more fixed operating conditions;
- and
- altering a pulse-repetition frequency of the second RF pulse generator.
A radio therapy device comprising an RF source, the RF source comprising:
- a first RF pulse generator;
- a second RF pulse generator, wherein the first RF pulse generator and the second RF pulse generator are configured to deliver RF pulses to a particle accelerator;
- and
- a controller to:
- control the first RF pulse generator and the second RF pulse generator to generate pulses sequentially;
- control the first RF pulse generator to generate pulses under one or more fixed operating conditions;
- and
- alter a pulse-repetition frequency of the second RF pulse generator.
A method of operating an RF source for a radiotherapy device comprising a first RF pulse generator and a second RF pulse generator arranged to deliver RF pulses to a particle accelerator, the method comprising:
- controlling the first RF pulse generator and the second RF pulse generator to generate a series of interleaved pulses;
- controlling the first RF pulse generator to generate pulses under one or more fixed operating conditions;
- altering a pulse-repetition frequency of the second RF pulse generator;
- and
- delivering the series of interleaved pulses to the particle accelerator, wherein the first RF pulse generator generates pulses at a first power and the second RF pulse generator generates pulses at a second power.
