Transmissions across multiple time-domain resources in wireless communication networks

A wireless communication device, comprising:

• at least one processor configured to:
• receive, via a receiver from a network, a plurality of frequency hopping configuration sets for a transmission, wherein each of the plurality of frequency hopping configuration sets comprises a plurality of offsets;
• determine, from the network, a plurality of time-domain resources for repeating the transmission or for multiple transmissions scheduled by a single scheduling command;
• and
• determine frequency hopping configuration set from the plurality of frequency hopping configuration sets for the transmission in each of the plurality of time-domain resources by:
• receiving, via the receiver from the network, an index of the frequency hopping configuration set;
• determining the frequency hopping configuration set based on the index;
• and
• determining a frequency-domain starting position for the transmission in each of the plurality of time-domain resources based on a respective one of the plurality of offsets in the determined frequency hopping configuration set that is mapped to an uplink frequency portion corresponding to a respective one of the plurality of time-domain resources.

A network node, comprising:

• at least one processor configured to:
• send, via a transceiver to a wireless communication device, a plurality of frequency hopping configuration sets for a transmission, wherein each of the plurality of frequency hopping configuration sets comprises a plurality of offsets;
• communicate, via the transceiver with the wireless communication device, the transmission and at least one repetition thereof or multiple transmissions scheduled by a single scheduling command using a plurality of time-domain resources and a frequency hopping configuration set from the plurality of frequency hopping configuration sets for the transmission in each of the plurality of time-domain resources, wherein
• the plurality of time-domain resources for repeating the transmission or for the multiple transmissions scheduled by the single scheduling command is determined by the wireless communication device;
• and
• the frequency hopping configuration set from the plurality of frequency hopping configuration sets for the transmission in each of the plurality of time-domain resources is determined by the wireless communication device by:
• receiving, via a receiver from the network node, an index of the frequency hopping configuration set,
• determining the frequency hopping configuration set based on the index, and
• determining a frequency-domain starting position for the transmission in each of the plurality of time-domain resources based on a respective one of the plurality of offsets in the determined frequency hopping configuration set that is mapped to an uplink frequency portion corresponding to a respective one of the plurality of time-domain resources.

A method, comprising:

• sending, by a transceiver of a network to a wireless communication device, a plurality of frequency hopping configuration sets for a transmission, wherein each of the plurality of frequency hopping configuration sets comprises a plurality of offsets;
• communicating, by the network with the wireless communication device, the transmission and at least one repetition thereof or multiple transmissions scheduled by a single scheduling command using a plurality of time-domain resources and a frequency hopping configuration set from the plurality of frequency hopping configuration sets for the transmission in each of the plurality of time-domain resources, wherein
• the plurality of time-domain resources for repeating the transmission or for the multiple transmissions scheduled by the single scheduling command is determined by the wireless communication device;
• and
• the frequency hopping configuration set from the plurality of frequency hopping configuration sets for the transmission in each of the plurality of time-domain resources is determined by the wireless communication device by:
• receiving, via a receiver from the network, an index of the frequency hopping configuration set,
• determining the frequency hopping configuration set based on the index, and
• determining a frequency-domain starting position for the transmission in each of the plurality of time-domain resources based on a respective one of the plurality of offsets in the determined frequency hopping configuration set that is mapped to an uplink frequency portion corresponding to a respective one of the plurality of time-domain resources.
