Method and device for determining sidelink resource

A first user equipment (UE) in a communication system, the first UE comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• a processor coupled with the transceiver and configured to:
• receive, from a second UE, request information instructing to assist a resource allocation mode 2 for sidelink transmission of the second UE, wherein the first UE is configured to assist a resource allocation mode 2 of the second UE;
• determine a set of preferred resources of the first UE after receiving the request information;
• and
• transmit, to the second UE, information on the set of preferred resources of the first UE,
• wherein, for the determining of the set of preferred resources of the first UE, the processor is configured to:
• identify an initial set of candidate resources;
• exclude, from the initial set of candidate resources, at least one candidate resource within at least one slot in which the first UE is expected to perform transmission, wherein the first UE is a reception UE for the sidelink transmission of the second UE;
• and
• determine the set of preferred resources of the first UE based on the initial set of candidate resources from which the at least one candidate resource is excluded.

A method performed by a second user equipment (UE) in a communication system, the method comprising:

• transmitting, to a first UE, request information instructing to assist a resource allocation mode 2 for sidelink transmission of the second UE, wherein the second UE is configured to be assisted by the first UE for the resource allocation mode 2;
• receiving, from the first UE, information on a set of preferred resources of the first UE after transmitting the request information, wherein the set of preferred resources of the first UE is included in an initial set of candidate resources from which at least one candidate resource within at least one slot in which transmission of the first UE is expected is excluded and wherein the first UE is a reception UE for the sidelink transmission of the second UE;
• selecting at least one resource based on the information on set of preferred resources of the first UE and the resource allocation mode 2;
• and
• performing the sidelink transmission to the first UE based on the selected at least one resource.

A second user equipment (UE) in a communication system, the second UE comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• a processor coupled with the transceiver and configured to:
• transmit, to a first UE, request information instructing to assist a resource allocation mode 2 for sidelink transmission of the second UE, wherein the second UE is configured to be assisted by the first UE for the resource allocation mode 2;
• receive, from the first UE, information on a set of preferred resources of the first UE after transmitting the request information, wherein the set of preferred resources of the first UE is included in an initial set of candidate resources from which at least one candidate resource within at least one slot in which transmission of the first UE is expected is excluded and wherein the first UE is a reception UE for the sidelink transmission of the second UE;
• select at least one resource based on the information on set of preferred resources of the first UE and the resource allocation mode 2;
• and
• perform the sidelink transmission to the first UE based on the selected at least one resource.
