Abstract
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may identify a pattern for an on-demand synchronization signal block (SSB), wherein identifying the pattern is in association with a secondary cell activation. The UE may receive the on-demand SSB in accordance with the pattern. The UE may activate a secondary cell in accordance with the on-demand SSB. Numerous other aspects are described.
Claims20
A user equipment (UE), comprising:
- one or more antennas;
- and
- a processing system that includes one or more processors and one or more memories that store code for the one or more processors, the processing system configured to cause the UE to:
- identify a pattern, for an on-demand synchronization signal block (SSB), in association with a secondary cell activation;
- receive the on-demand SSB in accordance with the pattern;
- transmit a measurement report associated with the on-demand SSB,
- wherein transmission of the measurement report occurs either prior to reception of a secondary cell activation command associated with activation of a secondary cell or after reception of the secondary cell activation command associated with activation of the secondary cell;
- and
- activate the secondary cell in accordance with the on-demand SSB.
A network node, comprising:
- one or more antennas;
- and
- a processing system that includes one or more processors and one or more memories that store code for the one or more processors, the processing system configured to cause the network node to:
- identify a pattern, for an on-demand synchronization signal block (SSB), in association with a secondary cell activation;
- transmit the on-demand SSB in accordance with the pattern;
- receive a measurement report associated with the on-demand SSB,
- wherein reception of the measurement report occurs either prior to transmission of a secondary cell activation command associated with activation of a secondary cell or after transmission of the secondary cell activation command associated with activation of the secondary cell;
- and
- activate the secondary cell in accordance with the on-demand SSB.
A method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE), comprising:
- identifying a pattern, for an on-demand synchronization signal block (SSB), in association with a secondary cell activation;
- receiving the on-demand SSB in accordance with the pattern;
- transmitting a measurement report associated with the on-demand SSB,
- wherein transmission of the measurement report occurs either prior to receiving a secondary cell activation command associated with activating a secondary cell or after receiving the secondary cell activation command associated with activating the secondary cell;
- and
- activating the secondary cell in accordance with the on-demand SSB.
