Abstract
An image encoding/decoding method and apparatus are provided. The image decoding method performed by the image decoding apparatus may comprise deriving a reference picture for inter prediction of a current picture, deriving a resolution ratio between the reference picture and the current picture, and modifying a resolution of the reference picture based on the resolution ratio. The resolution ratio may be derived based on resolution index information of a bitstream.
Claims12
An image encoding method performed by an image encoding apparatus, the image encoding method comprising:
- determining a reference picture for inter prediction of a current picture;
- deriving a resolution ratio between the reference picture and the current picture;
- and
- modifying a resolution of the reference picture based on the resolution ratio,
- wherein resolution index information indicating the resolution ratio is encoded into a bitstream,
- wherein the resolution ratio is determined based on comparing a threshold that is derived based on an initial quantization parameter of a first picture in group of pictures (GOP) with a down-sampled peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) for the first picture.
An image decoding method performed by an image decoding apparatus, the image decoding method comprising:
- deriving a reference picture for inter prediction of a current picture;
- deriving a resolution ratio between the reference picture and the current picture;
- and
- modifying a resolution of the reference picture based on the resolution ratio,
- wherein the resolution ratio is derived based on resolution index information of a bitstream,
- wherein the resolution ratio is determined based on comparing a threshold that is derived based on an initial quantization parameter of a first picture in group of pictures (GOP) with a down-sampled peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) for the first picture.
A method of transmitting a bitstream generated by an image encoding method, the image encoding method comprising:
- determining a reference picture for inter prediction of a current picture;
- deriving a resolution ratio between the reference picture and the current picture;
- and
- modifying a resolution of the reference picture based on the resolution ratio,
- wherein resolution index information indicating the resolution ratio is encoded into a bitstream,
- wherein the resolution ratio is determined based on comparing a threshold that is derived based on an initial quantization parameter of a first picture in group of pictures (GOP) with a down-sampled peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) for the first picture.
