Method and system for permission management

A computer-implemented method for validating a permit, comprising the steps:

• receiving, from a client device, a request to validate an expression associated with at least one permission of the permit, the request comprising a permit identifier that identifies the permit and data indicative of the expression associated with the at least one permission;
• obtaining permit data based on the permit identifier, wherein the permit data comprises data indicative of the at least one permission, wherein the at least one permission provides an indication of one or more actions a holder of the first permit can take and/or what a holder of the permit is allowed to do;
• validating the permit, wherein the validation comprises at least:
• i) determining whether the permit has been revoked;
• ii) determining whether the expression associated with the at least one permission of the permit is greater than or equal to a configured value;
• and
• iii) generating a validation result based on the determination of whether the permit has been revoked and the determination of whether the expression is greater than or equal to the configured value, wherein the validation result indicates that the permit is valid only where the permit has not been revoked and the expression is greater than or equal to the configured value;
• and
• transmitting data indicative of the received request for inclusion on an immutable and publicly accessible blockchain, wherein the data indicative of the request is also configured to provide an indication of the validation result.
