Abstract
In a packet loss rate detection method, a session management network element determines that link status detection needs to be performed on a link on which a service flow is located; and the session management network element sends a link status detection indication to a first device and/or a second device, where the link status detection indication is for enabling a link status detection function, and the link status detection function includes a packet loss rate detection function.
Claims20
A method implemented by a session management network element and comprising:
- making a determination that link status detection per quality of service (QoS) flow is applied for a multi-access protocol data unit (PDU) session, wherein the multi-access PDU session supports a service that simultaneously uses a 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) access and a non-3GPP access;
- and
- sending, to a first device and in response to the determination, a QoS flow identifier (QFI), a first port number associated with the 3GPP access, and a second port number associated with the non-3GPP access,
- wherein the QFI indicates a QoS flow on which the link status detection is performed,
- wherein the first port number is for the link status detection on the 3GPP access, and
- wherein the second port number is for the link status detection on the non-3GPP access.
A session management network element comprising:
- a memory configured to store computer instructions;
- and
- one or more processors coupled to the memory and configured to execute the computer instructions to cause the session management network element to:
- make a determination that link status detection per quality of service (QoS) flow is applied for a multi-access protocol data unit (PDU) session, wherein the multi-access PDU session supports a service that simultaneously uses a 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) access and a non-3GPP access;
- and
- send, to a first device and in response to the determination, a QoS flow identifier (QFI), a first port number associated with the 3GPP access, and a second port number associated with the non-3GPP access,
- wherein the QFI indicates a QoS flow on which the link status detection is performed,
- wherein the first port number is for the link status detection on the 3GPP access, and
- wherein the second port number is for the link status detection on the non-3GPP access.
A method comprising:
- receiving a quality of service (QoS) flow identifier (QFI), a first port number associated with a 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) access, and a second port number associated with a non-3GPP access, wherein the QFI indicates a QoS flow on which link status detection is performed, wherein the first port number is for the link status detection on the 3GPP access, and wherein the second port number is for the link status detection on the non-3GPP access;
- and
- performing, the link status detection based on the QFI and based on the first port number or the second port number.
An apparatus, comprising:
- a memory configured to store computer instructions;
- and
- one or more processors coupled to the memory and configured to execute the computer instructions to:
- receive a quality of service (QoS) flow identifier (QFI), a first port number associated with a 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) access, and a second port number associated with a non-3GPP access, wherein the QFI indicates a QoS flow on which link status detection is performed, wherein the first port number is for the link status detection on the 3GPP access, and wherein the second port number is for the link status detection on the non-3GPP access;
- and
- perform the link status detection based on the QFI and based on the first port number or the second port number.
