Communication apparatus and base station

A method, comprising:

• receiving area information indicating an area at least one candidate satellite beam covers;
• determining whether the communication apparatus is in the area the at least one candidate satellite beam covers based on the area information, and a location of the communication apparatus;
• and
• in response to the determination, performing a measurement of a signal quality or a signal strength of the at least one candidate satellite beam, wherein
• the area information includes, for each of the at least one candidate satellite beam:
• a satellite beam direction;
• and
• a center and a radius of the coverage area, and
• a target satellite beam of the at least one candidate satellite beam has a one-to-one correspondence with a serving cell.

An integrated circuit, which comprises circuitry configured to:

• control receiving area information indicating an area at least one candidate satellite beam covers;
• control determining whether the communication apparatus is in the area the at least one candidate satellite beam covers based on the area information, and a location of the communication apparatus;
• and
• in response to the determination, control performing a measurement of a signal quality or a signal strength of the at least one candidate satellite beam, wherein,
• the area information includes, for each of the at least one candidate satellite beam:
• a satellite beam direction;
• and
• a center and a radius of the coverage area, and
• a target satellite beam of the at least one candidate satellite beam has a one-to-one correspondence with a serving cell.
