Abstract
Articles and methods related to passivation materials on alkaline earth metals are generally described.
Claims26
An article, comprising:
- a substrate comprising an alkaline earth metal, wherein the alkaline earth metal is calcium (Ca);
- and
- a passivation material in direct contact with the substrate, wherein the passivation material comprises an alkaline earth sulfide in an amount greater than or equal to 90 mol. % based on a total number of moles in the passivation material.
An article, comprising:
- a substrate comprising an alkaline earth metal;
- and
- a passivation material in direct contact with the substrate, wherein the passivation material comprises an alkaline earth sulfide in an amount greater than or equal to 90 mol. % based on a total number of moles in the passivation material, and wherein the alkaline earth sulfide is CaS.
