Computerized systems and methods for an industrial metaverse

A system for modifying three-dimensional (3D) models comprising:

• one or more computers comprising one or more processors and one or more non-transitory computer readable media, the one or more non-transitory computer readable media comprising program instructions thereon that when executed cause the one or more computers to:
• generate, by the one or more processors, a development environment configured to enable a user to create a 3D virtual representation of a physical environment;
• link, by the one or more processors, the development environment to one or more external modules;
• import, by the one or more processors, source data from the one or more external modules into the development environment;
• generate, by the one or more processors, one or more virtual models that include the source data in the development environment;
• execute, by the one or more processors within the development environment that is separate from a runtime environment of any client computer, a manipulation of the one or more virtual models in the development environment, the one or more virtual models comprising federated 3D models and the imported source data from the one or more external modules, the manipulation causing a change to at least one characteristic of the imported source data associated with the one or more virtual models;
• receive, by the one or more processors, instructions to execute the change to the at least one characteristic of the imported source data, the execution simultaneously causing:
• i) the changes to the at least one characteristic of the imported source data being automatically propagated to the runtime environment, the propagation causing the runtime environment to display the one or more virtual models with the changes and ii) the change to the at least one characteristic to be stored in the one or more external modules, the one or more external modules being stored separately from the development environment.
