Abstract
Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for using generative AI to support an upsell engine. A point-of-sale (POS) system may combine transaction data, merchant data, and consumer data into a shared embedding space comprising a numerical matrix. A machine learning model in connection with the POS system may generate an offer based on the shared embedding of the transaction data, consumer data, and merchant inventory data. The offer may be unique to the transaction. The POS system may prevent merchant data from being transmitted to a banking server, and may prevent consumer data from being transmitted to a merchant server. The POS system may output the offer.
Claims20
A computer implemented method, the method comprising:
- transmitting, from a point-of-sale (POS) system, after receiving a transaction request and prior to completing a transaction identified in the transaction request, (i) a consumer data request to a banking server and (ii) a merchant data request to a merchant server;
- receiving, at the POS system, responsive to the consumer data request, anonymized consumer data from the banking server and, responsive to the merchant data request, merchant data from the merchant server, wherein the anonymized consumer data is anonymized by removing personally identifiable information (PII) from consumer data;
- combining, at the POS system, transaction data associated with the transaction request, the merchant data, and the anonymized consumer data into a shared embedding space comprising a numerical matrix;
- generating, by a machine learning model executed on the POS system, an offer prediction based on the shared embedding space of the transaction data, the anonymized consumer data, and the merchant data, wherein the offer prediction is unique to the transaction;
- transmitting, from the POS system, an offer validation request to the banking server and transmitting, from the POS system, an offer validation request to the merchant server, each offer validation request including the offer prediction;
- preventing, by the POS system, the merchant data from being transmitted to the banking server;
- preventing, by the POS system, the anonymized consumer data from being transmitted to the merchant server;
- and
- outputting, via the POS system, prior to completing the transaction, an approved offer responsive to receiving respective validation approvals from the banking server and the merchant server.
A point-of-sale (POS) system, comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to perform operations comprising:
- transmitting, after receiving a transaction request and prior to completing a transaction identified in the transaction request, (i) a consumer data request to a banking server and (ii) a merchant data request to a merchant server;
- receiving, responsive to the consumer data request, anonymized consumer data from the banking server and, responsive to the merchant data request, merchant data from the merchant server, wherein the anonymized consumer data is anonymized by removing personally identifiable information (PII) from consumer data;
- combining transaction data associated with the transaction request, the merchant data, and the anonymized consumer data into a shared embedding space comprising a numerical matrix;
- generating, by a machine learning model executed on the POS system, an offer prediction based on the shared embedding space of the transaction data, the anonymized consumer data, and the merchant data, wherein the offer prediction is unique to the transaction;
- transmitting an offer validation request to the banking server and transmitting, from the POS system, an offer validation request to the merchant server, each offer validation request including the offer prediction;
- preventing the merchant data from being transmitted to the banking server;
- preventing the anonymized consumer data from being transmitted to the merchant server;
- and
- outputting, via the POS system, prior to completing the transaction, an approved offer responsive to receiving respective validation approvals from the banking server and the merchant server.
A non-transitory computer-readable device having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by at least one computing device, cause the at least one computing device to perform operations comprising:
- transmitting, from a point-of-sale (POS) system, after receiving a transaction request and prior to completing a transaction identified in the transaction request, (i) a consumer data request to a banking server and (ii) a merchant data request to a merchant server;
- receiving, at the POS system, responsive to the consumer data request, anonymized consumer data from the banking server and, responsive to the merchant data request, merchant data from the merchant server, wherein the anonymized consumer data is anonymized by removing personally identifiable information (PII) from consumer data;
- combining, at the POS system, transaction data associated with the transaction request, the merchant data, and the anonymized consumer data into a shared embedding space comprising a numerical matrix;
- generating, by a machine learning model executed on the POS system, an offer prediction based on the shared embedding space of the transaction data, the anonymized consumer data, and the merchant data, wherein the offer prediction is unique to the transaction;
- transmitting, from the POS system, an offer validation request to the banking server and transmitting, from the POS system, an offer validation request to the merchant server, each offer validation request including the offer prediction;
- preventing, by the POS system, the merchant data from being transmitted to the banking server;
- preventing, by the POS system, the anonymized consumer data from being transmitted to the merchant server;
- and
- outputting, via the POS system, prior to completing the transaction, an approved offer responsive to receiving respective validation approvals from the banking server and the merchant server.
