Using quantum networks to distribute configurations in a distributed system

A computer program product, the computer program product comprising a computer readable storage medium having program instructions embodied therewith, the program instructions readable and/or executable by a first quantum client component to cause the first quantum client component to:

• receive, by the first quantum client component, at least one multicast set of qubits, wherein the at least one set of qubits is received at the first quantum client component from a server, wherein the at least one set of qubits are entangled by the server before being output via photon polarization to the first quantum client component, and are entangled when received by the first quantum client component;
• use, by the first quantum client component, the at least one set of qubits to index a configuration dictionary to determine a first configuration, wherein the configuration dictionary defines a plurality of different configurations;
• and
• configure, by the first quantum client component, the first quantum client component according to the first configuration.

A system, comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• logic integrated with the processor, executable by the processor, or integrated with and executable by the processor, the logic being configured to:
• receive at least one multicast set of qubits at a first quantum client component, wherein the at least one set of qubits is received at the first quantum client component from a server, wherein the at least one set of qubits are entangled by the server before being output via photon polarization to the first quantum client component, and are entangled when received by the first quantum client component;
• use the at least one set of qubits to index a configuration dictionary to determine a first configuration, wherein the configuration dictionary defines a plurality of different configurations;
• and
• cause the first quantum client component to be configured according to the first configuration.
