Image processing apparatus, image processing method, and non-transitory computer-readable storage medium

An image processing method comprising:

• generating first bitmap data and second bitmap data different from the first bitmap data based on PDL data;
• acquiring, based on an analysis result of the first bitmap data, a gamut mapping table that associates the second bitmap data with a print color gamut;
• correcting the second bitmap data based on the gamut mapping table;
• generating quantized image data based on the corrected second bitmap data;
• and
• holding generated intermediate data,
• wherein the intermediate data is generated based on the PDL data, and the first bitmap data and the second bitmap data are generated based on the held intermediate data, and
• wherein if a first intermediate data group that is a part of the intermediate data is held, and a capacity of a second intermediate data group that is received after the first intermediate data group exceeds a free space, a first background image is generated based on the first intermediate data group and the second intermediate data group, and the first intermediate data group is deleted and the first background image is held.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by a computer, cause the computer to perform a method comprising:

• generating first bitmap data and second bitmap data different from the first bitmap data based on PDL data;
• acquiring, based on an analysis result of the first bitmap data, a gamut mapping table that associates the second bitmap data with a print color gamut;
• correcting the second bitmap data based on the gamut mapping table;
• generating quantized image data based on the corrected second bitmap data;
• and
• holding generated intermediate data,
• wherein the intermediate data is generated based on the PDL data, and the first bitmap data and the second bitmap data are generated based on the held intermediate data;
• and
• wherein if a first intermediate data group that is a part of the intermediate data is held, and a capacity of a second intermediate data group that is received after the first intermediate data group exceeds a free space, a first background image is generated based on the first intermediate data group and the second intermediate data group, and the first intermediate data group is deleted and the first background image is held.
