Abstract
A first request to initiate a memory access transaction is received by a processing device of a memory sub-system from a host system. One or more host data items are received from the host system. The one or more host data items are stored in a memory buffer residing on a volatile memory device of the memory sub-system. In response to an initiation of one or more operations to commit the memory access transaction, the one or more data items are migrated from the memory buffer to a persistent memory device.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a processing device and from a host system, a host data item for storage at a memory sub-system;
- determining, based on a host memory address associated with the host data item, a memory access transaction associated with the host data item, wherein the memory access transaction is associated with host data items having a range of host memory addresses for storage at a common region of the memory sub-system;
- identifying, in a metadata structure, a mapping between an identifier of the memory access transaction and a first region of the memory sub-system, the first region designated for storage of host data items of the memory access transaction;
- storing the host data item at the first region of the memory sub-system;
- responsive to determining that one or more memory commit criteria with respect to the memory access transaction are satisfied, migrating each of the host data items of the memory access transaction stored at the first region of the memory sub-system to a second region of the memory sub-system;
- and
- updating the metadata structure to include an updated mapping between the identifier of the memory access transaction and the second region of the memory sub-system.
A system, comprising:
- a memory device;
- and
- a processing device coupled to the memory device, the processing device to:
- receive, from a host system, a host data item for storage at a memory sub-system;
- determine, based on a host memory address associated with the host data item, a memory access transaction associated with the host data item, wherein the memory access transaction is associated with host data items having a range of host memory addresses for storage at a common region of the memory sub-system;
- identify, in a metadata structure, a mapping between an identifier of the memory access transaction and a first region of the memory sub-system, the first region designated for storage of host data items of the memory access transaction;
- store the host data item at the first region of the memory sub-system;
- responsive to determining that one or more memory commit criteria with respect to the memory access transaction are satisfied, migrate each of the host data items of the memory access transaction stored at the first region of the memory sub-system to a second region of the memory sub-system;
- and
- update the metadata structure to include an updated mapping between the identifier of the memory access transaction and the second region of the memory sub-system.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising executable instructions that, when executed by a processing device, cause the processing device to:
- receive, from a host system, a host data item for storage at a memory sub-system;
- determine, based on a host memory address associated with the host data item, a memory access transaction associated with the host data item, wherein the memory access transaction is associated with host data items having a range of host memory addresses for storage at a common region of the memory sub-system;
- identify, in a metadata structure, a mapping between an identifier of the memory access transaction and a first region of the memory sub-system, the first region designated for storage of host data items of the memory access transaction;
- store the host data item at the first region of the memory sub-system;
- responsive to determining that one or more memory commit criteria with respect to the memory access transaction are satisfied, migrate each of the host data items of the memory access transaction stored at the first region of the memory sub-system to a second region of the memory sub-system;
- and
- update the metadata structure to include an updated mapping between the identifier of the memory access transaction and the second region of the memory sub-system.
