Claims17
A method of determining the risk of a subject for harboring ovarian cancer and treating of ovarian cancer comprising the steps of:
- a) measuring the levels of diacetylspermine (DAS), N-(3-acetamidopropyl) pyrrolidin-2-one (N3AP), and cancer antigen 125 (CA125) in a biological sample obtained from the subject;
- and
- b) comparing the levels of DAS, N3AP, and CA125 in said sample with a reference value corresponding to a healthy subject,
- wherein an altered amount of DAS, N3AP, and CA125 relative to said reference provides an indication that the subject harbors or is at risk of harboring ovarian cancer;
- c) determining the subject has an altered amount of DAS, N3AP, and CA125 relative to said reference that indicates that the subject harbors or is at risk of harboring ovarian cancer;
- and
- d) administering a treatment for ovarian cancer chosen from one or more of:
- administering an anticancer drug to the subject that is indicated as harboring or at risk of harboring ovarian cancer;
- administering therapeutic radiation to the subject that is indicated as harboring or at risk of harboring ovarian cancer;
- and
