Abstract
The fluid containment system attaches to the wellhead below the rotating control device to catch fluids. The fluid containment system provides a pan below the outlet of the body in which the rotating head assembly is secured. A curtain attaches to the fluid containment system to at least partially enclose the wellhead. The curtain directs the escaped fluids to the pan. An opening in the curtain provides an outlet for the body allowing fluids within the pipe to flow from the body. Conduits attach to outlets of the pan to transfer the fluids from the pan to a tank.
Claims20
A fluid containment system that attaches a curtain to a wellhead below a flowline of a rotating bearing assembly, the system comprising:
- a collection body;
- an outer wall extending vertically upward from the collection body;
- a first attachment arm secured to the collection body, wherein the first attachment arm extends vertically above the outer wall, wherein the first attachment arm is configured to secure to the curtain;
- an opening in the curtain configured for the flowline to pass through the opening.
A fluid containment system that attaches a curtain to a wellhead below a flowline of a rotating control device body (RCD body), the system comprising:
- a collection body;
- a first attachment arm extending vertically from the collection body, wherein the first attachment arm is configured to secure the curtain;
- a first support configured to attach directly to the RCD body below the collection body, wherein the first support extends laterally from the RCD body, wherein the collection body rests on the first support.
A fluid containment system that attaches a curtain to a wellhead below a flowline of a rotating bearing assembly, the system comprising:
- a collection body;
- a floor of the collection body;
- a first attachment arm secured to the floor, wherein the first attachment arm extends vertically upward from the floor, wherein the first attachment arm is configured to secure to the curtain;
- a floor attachment finger secured to the floor, wherein the floor attachment finger is configured to secure to the curtain.
