Abstract
A sludge retention device, for a drain of a sanitary basin, includes a sieve surface which extends from a higher surface region to a lower surface region, and a handle which is arranged in the lower surface region on the sieve surface. The handle includes a flow disruptor for a flow of a liquid towards the lower surface region. The flow disruptor is configured to at least partially break up the flow of the liquid.

A sludge retention device for a drain of a sanitary basin, the sludge retention comprising:
- a sieve surface which extends from a higher surface region to a lower surface region;
- and
- a handle which is arranged in the lower surface region on the sieve surface,
- wherein:
- the handle includes a flow disruptor for a flow of a liquid in a direction of the lower surface region;
- the flow disruptor is configured to at least partially break up the flow of the liquid in the lower surface region;
- and
- the flow disruptor is above the sieve surface.
