Interface and laundry treating apparatus having the same

A laundry treating apparatus comprising:

• a cabinet;
• a drum rotatably disposed in the cabinet and configured to receive laundry;
• a manipulation portion coupled to the cabinet and configured to receive a selection command for selecting a course or an option to be performed by rotating the drum;
• a communication module provided independently of the cabinet and configured to communicate with an external terminal, the external terminal being configured to control the course or the option;
• a display interface configured to display state information including a remote control state indicating remote control of the laundry treating apparatus in which the course or the option is controlled by the external terminal;
• and
• a selection interface configured to receive a determination command for releasing the remote control,
• wherein the communication module is configured to release the remote control through different processes including an operation of the selection interface depending on whether the course or the option is (i) currently being executed by the remote control or (ii) before execution of the course or option.
