A conjugated molecule comprising a peptide displaying at least 0.1% activity of native glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) at the GLP-1 receptor, and an N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) antagonist is provided. The peptide is covalently bonded to the NMDAR antagonist either directly or through a chemical linker. The conjugated molecule has use in therapy. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the conjugated molecule, a method of reducing body weight of a mammal comprising administering the conjugated molecule to the mammal, and a non-therapeutic method of reducing body weight of a mammal comprising orally administering the conjugated molecule to the mammal are also provided.
A conjugated molecule comprising a peptide and an N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) antagonist selected from the group consisting of MK801, neramexane, memantine, memantine hydrochloride, amantadine, ketamine, phencyclidine (PCP), and norketamin, wherein the peptide is covalently bonded to the NMDAR antagonist either directly or through a chemical linker, and wherein the peptide comprises at least 80% amino acid sequence identity to the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:
