Abstract
A computer implemented method for determining the stability of an object being transported on a conveyor system in which the conveyor system includes a carrier configured to transport the object in a transport direction of the conveyor system includes the steps of receiving a series of images representing the object on the carrier being transported by the conveyor system, determining a moving direction of the object in the received series of images, and determining the stability of the object by comparing the determined moving direction of the object to the transport direction of the conveyor system. Furthermore, a system includes a control unit configured to perform the above method and a camera.
Claims14
Computer implemented method for determining the stability of an object being transported on a conveyor system, wherein
- the conveyor system comprises a carrier configured to transport the object in a transport direction of the conveyor system, comprising the steps of:
- receiving a series of images representing the object on the carrier being transported by the conveyor system;
- determining an object moving direction of the object in the received series of images;
- and
- determining the stability of the object by comparing the determined object moving direction of the object to the transport direction of the conveyor system,
- wherein, when the object is moving in the object moving direction and the object moving direction for a predetermined number of images is different to the transport direction of the conveyor system, the object is determined to be unstable, and
- wherein, when the object moving direction for a predetermined number of images is not different to the transport direction of the conveyor system, the object is determined to be stable.
