Claims20
A parking assistance apparatus that automatically parks a vehicle based on a teacher route obtained by manual driving by a driver, the parking assistance apparatus comprising:
- a storage that stores the teacher route traveled when the vehicle is parked in a parking space;
- a detector that detects a plurality of obstacles;
- and
- a processor that:
- generates a parking route based on the teacher route and the plurality of obstacles, wherein the parking route is a route to be traveled when the vehicle is to be automatically parked in the parking space;
- and
- performs vehicle control to park the vehicle in the parking space, wherein
- the plurality of obstacles includes a first obstacle and a second obstacle,
- the second obstacle is located on an opposite side of the parking route from the first obstacle,
- the parking route is a route along which the vehicle moves away from the first obstacle, and
- the parking route is a route along which a distance between the second obstacle and the vehicle is shorter than a distance between the second obstacle and the vehicle in the teacher route.
A parking assistance method of a parking assistance apparatus that automatically parks a vehicle based on a teacher route obtained by manual driving by a driver, the method comprising:
- storing, in a storage, the teacher route traveled when the vehicle is parked in a parking space;
- detecting, by a detector, a plurality of obstacles;
- generating a parking route based on the teacher route and plurality of obstacles, wherein the parking route is a route to be traveled when the vehicle is to be automatically parked in the parking space;
- and
- performing vehicle control to park the vehicle in the parking space,
- wherein
- the plurality of obstacles includes a first obstacle and a second obstacle,
- the second obstacle is located on an opposite side of the parking route from the first obstacle,
- the parking route is a route along which the vehicle moves away from the first obstacle, and
- the parking route is a route along which a distance between the second obstacle and the vehicle is shorter than a distance between the second obstacle and the vehicle in the teacher route.
