Abstract
The invention is a vehicular backup safety system that provides a reflected light pattern on a horizontal surface area, on the ground, behind a vehicle that is placed into reverse mode.
Claims4
A vehicular backup safety system comprising:
- a plurality of high-intensity light sources, separate from backup lights;
- a plurality of lenses;
- the plurality of lenses are operative to merge diverging beams of high-intensity light so as to illuminate a horizontal surface area to the rear of a vehicle, and onto a parking-lot lane so as to signal the vehicle is reversing out of a parking space into the parking-lot lane;
- a light-intensity sensor;
- a high-intensity-light-source control subsystem;
- and
- a vehicle backup-light power input.
