Method for marking a vehicle tire, and marking station

A marking station for marking a vehicle tire, comprising:

• at least one marking device magazine, the at least one marking device magazine having a plurality of marking device storage positions;
• a plurality of different marking devices, each of the plurality of marking devices is assigned to and supported by a respective one of the plurality of marking device storage positions of the at least one marking device magazine, each of the plurality of marking devices is operable to produce a respective specific mark on the vehicle tire;
• and
• a robot arm having a three-fingered gripper and being configured to move and position the three-fingered gripper adjacent a selected marking device from the plurality of different marking devices, and the three-fingered gripper being actuatable to grip the selected marking device and the robot arm being movable to position the selected marking device on the vehicle tire for producing the specific mark on the vehicle tire, the specific marks of the plurality of marking devices each representing a specific respective tire property,
• wherein each of the plurality of marking devices comprises an electrical or thermal energy storage unit, and each of the plurality of marking device storage positions of the at least one marking device magazine has an electrical or thermal energy supply, such that electrical or thermal energy is transferable to the electrical or thermal energy storage units from the electrical or thermal energy supply when the different marking devices are positioned at the respective marking device storage positions.
