Tissue holder assembly and components thereof

A method of handling tissue samples, comprising:

• receiving the tissue samples in a tissue holder having a plurality of tissue storage compartments, a hub, and a post extending from the hub, wherein the tissue samples are received into respective tissue storage compartments of the plurality of tissue storage compartments while the tissue holder is located within a tissue holder assembly;
• receiving a first protrusion of a tissue holder cap at a recess in the post of the tissue holder to thereby align a first latch of the tissue holder cap with a first part of the tissue holder and align a second latch of the tissue holder cap with a second part of the tissue holder, wherein the act of receiving the first protrusion at the recess is performed by the tissue holder cap having a central portion defining a through opening that the first protrusion at least partially radially projects into with the post of the tissue holder extending through the through opening of the tissue holder cap to receive the first protrusion at the recess;
• and
• securely attaching the tissue holder cap onto the tissue holder to retain the tissue samples within the respective tissue storage compartments, wherein the act of securely attaching is performed by the first latch and the second latch of the tissue holder cap anchoring against the tissue holder.
