Provided, inter alia, are methods and compositions for treating FTO-mediated cancer.
Claims3
A method of treating cancer in a subject in need thereof, the method comprising measuring an elevated Fat Mass and Obesity-Associated Protein (FTO) level compared to a control in a biological sample obtained from the subject and administering a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of formula (I):
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein (i) the cancer is leukemia and the biological sample is a blood sample, or (ii) the cancer is a solid tumor and the biological sample is a tumor sample,
- wherein the solid tumor is breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, glioma or glioblastoma and the leukemia is acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
A method of treating cancer in a subject in need thereof, the method comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of a Fat Mass and Obesity-Associated Protein (FTO) inhibitor to a subject in need thereof, wherein the FTO inhibitor is a compound of formula (I):
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and
- wherein the cancer is AML with an elevated FTO level compared to a control, pancreatic cancer with an elevated FTO level compared to a control, breast cancer with an elevated FTO level compared to a control, glioma with an elevated FTO level compared to a control or glioblastoma with an elevated FTO level compared to a control.
