- a pharmaceutically effective amount of pseudoephedrine or a salt thereof;
- a triglyceride in an amount of about 1 wt % to about 50 wt % of the therapeutic composition;

- polyethylene oxide;
- and
- a disintegrant selected from the group consisting of crospovidone, sodium starch glycolate and croscarmellose sodium.
A method of treating a patient in need, comprising administering to the patient an effective amount of a composition suitable for reducing a chemical conversion of a precursor compound included in the composition to a drug comprising:
- the precursor compound that is useable in a chemical synthesis of the drug, the precursor compound including at least one of a sympathomimetic amine, an amphetamine precursor, or a methamphetamine precursor;
- a triglyceride in an amount of about 1 wt % to about 50 wt % of composition;
