Abstract
Embodiments of the present disclosure identify and alert a clinician to physiological cues thereby aiding the clinician in providing a better fitting of a medical prosthesis. Physiological data of a recipient of a medical prosthesis is analyzed to identify triggers during fitting or other types of adjustments to the prosthesis. A determination is then made as to whether the identified triggers correspond to a feedback event. If the triggers correspond to a feedback event, an alert containing information about the feedback event is generated and displayed or otherwise made available to the clinician.
Claims20
One or more non-transitory computer storage media comprising computer executable instructions that, when executed by a processor, perform a method comprising:
- receiving, from a video camera, one or more physiological inputs associated with physical movements of a recipient being fitted with a hearing device;
- analyzing, via a machine learning algorithm, the one or more physiological inputs to identify at least one physiological trigger of the recipient, wherein the at least one physiological trigger comprises a facial nerve stimulation;
- determining a feedback event indicative of stress or discomfort of the recipient based on the at least one physiological trigger by associating the at least one physiological trigger to a stimulus applied to the recipient;
- generating additional information about the feedback event, wherein the additional information comprises clinical instructions for how to adjust the hearing device;
- and
- adjusting one or more operations of the hearing device based on the additional information.
A method comprising:
- receiving, from a video camera, one or more physiological inputs associated with physical movements of a recipient being fitted with a hearing device;
- analyzing, via a machine learning algorithm, the one or more physiological inputs to identify at least one physiological trigger of the recipient;
- determining a feedback event indicative of stress or discomfort of the recipient based on the at least one physiological trigger by associating the at least one physiological trigger to a stimulus applied to the recipient;
- generating an alert based on the feedback event of the recipient to the stimulus;
- and
- adjusting one or more operations of the hearing device based on the alert.
A system, comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- at least one processor operable coupled to the memory, wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
- receive, from a video camera, one or more physiological inputs associated with physical movements of a recipient being fitted with a hearing device;
- analyze, via a machine learning algorithm, the one or more physiological inputs to identify at least one physiological trigger of the recipient, wherein the at least one physiological trigger comprises a pupil dilation;
- determine a feedback event indicative of stress or discomfort of the recipient based on the at least one physiological trigger by associating the at least one physiological trigger to a stimulus applied to the recipient;
- display the feedback event on an overlay display over a user interface of a fitting software for the hearing device;
- and
- adjust one or more operations of the hearing device based on the feedback event.
