Abstract
Herbicide compositions for controlling weed plants are disclosed. An herbicide composition can include topramezone and dithiopyr. An herbicide composition can include topramezone, 2,4-D, and dicamba. An herbicide composition can include topramezone, 2,4-D, dicamba, and dithiopyr. Also disclosed are granules coated in an herbicide composition. A method of controlling a weed plant including spreading a plurality of granules coated with an herbicide composition on the weed plant or spraying a liquid herbicide composition on the weed plant.
Claims12
A granular herbicide comprising:
- a granular carrier coated with an herbicide composition for controlling crabgrass, the herbicide composition consisting essentially of:
- topramezone;
- dithiopyr;
- and
- optionally, a viscosity modifier;
- wherein the granular carrier comprises a fertilizer granule;
- wherein a ratio of dithiopyr to topramezone is in a range of 8:0.9 to 9:1.1;
- and
- wherein the granular herbicide effects at least 80% control of crabgrass at three or more weeks after treatment.
A granular herbicide comprising:
- a granular carrier coated with an herbicide composition for controlling broadleaf vegetation, the herbicide composition consisting of:
- topramezone;
- 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D), and
- 3,6-dichloro-2-methoxybenzoic acid (dicamba);
- and
- dithiopyr;
- wherein a ratio of 2,4-D to dicamba to dithiopyr to topramezone is in a range of 48:3:8:0.9 to 52:4:9:1.1;
- wherein the granular carrier comprises a fertilizer granule.
A granular herbicide consisting essentially of:
- a granular carrier coated with an herbicide composition, the herbicide composition consisting of:
- topramezone;
- and
- dithiopyr;
- wherein the granular carrier comprises a fertilizer granule, the fertilizer granule comprising a mixture of a urea-containing fertilizer and rice hulls;
- wherein a ratio of dithiopyr to topramezone is in a range of 8:0.9 to 9:1.1;
- and
- wherein the granular herbicide effects at least 80% control of crabgrass at three or more weeks after treatment.
