Accelerated network reconnect using previous connection parameters

A method comprising:

• disconnecting a wireless device from a wireless network;
• after disconnecting the wireless device from the wireless network, waking up the wireless device, wherein, upon wake-up of the wireless device, memories of the wireless device are reset while preserving connection data associated with a previous connection to a first router of the wireless network, wherein the preserved connection data comprises;
• at least one socket that is open, a basic service set identifier (BSSID), an internet protocol (IP) address, and a media access control (MAC) address, and wherein the connection data is stored in the wireless device based at least in part on the BSSID of the first router;
• after waking up the wireless device, attempting, by the wireless device, to establish a connection with the first router of the wireless network using a wireless communication protocol via a first channel of the wireless communication protocol, the wireless communication protocol comprising N channels, N being a positive integer;
• and
• responsive to a successful attempt by the wireless device to establish the connection with the first router using the first channel, restoring the previous connection to the first router based at least in part on reconstructing layer 2 (L2) and layer 3 (L3) parameters of the previous connection with the preserved connection data.
