Positioning method and apparatus

A positioning and calibration method, comprising:

• sending, by a location management network element, first indication information to a network device, wherein the first indication information is useable by the network device to measure a signal that is sent by a terminal device and that is reflected by a reflection panel;
• receiving, by the location management network element, a measurement result of the network device, wherein the measurement result includes a receive-transmit time difference and an uplink angle-of-arrival that are obtained by the network device by measuring the signal that is sent by the terminal device and that is reflected by the reflection panel, and the receive-transmit time difference and an uplink angle-of-arrival that are obtained by the network device by measuring a signal sent by the terminal device in a line-of-sight (LOS) path;
• and
• determining, by the location management network element, a location of the terminal device, based on coordinates and steering angle of the network device, coordinates and steering angle of the reflection panel, and the measurement result.

A positioning apparatus, comprising:

• a transceiver, configured to:
• send first indication information to a network device, wherein the first indication information is useable by the network device to measure a signal that is sent by a terminal device and that is reflected by a reflection panel;
• and
• receive a measurement result of the network device, wherein the measurement result includes a receive-transmit time difference and an uplink angle-of-arrival that are obtained by the network device by measuring the signal that is sent by the terminal device and that is reflected by the reflection panel;
• and
• a processor, configured to determine a location of the terminal device based on coordinates and steering angle of the network device, coordinates and steering angle of the reflection panel, and the measurement result.
