Transmission and reception via antenna module combining

An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising:

• a plurality of antenna modules;
• at least one transceiver coupled to the plurality of antenna modules;
• one or more memories, individually or in combination, having instructions;
• and
• one or more processors, individually or in combination, configured to execute the instructions to cause the apparatus to:
• receive, via the at least one transceiver, an indication of a capability of a wireless node to transmit an aggregated signal via a plurality of antenna modules of the wireless node, wherein the indication of the capability of the wireless node comprises an indication of whether a maximum transmission power of the aggregated signal satisfies a threshold value;
• and
• transmit, via the at least one transceiver, at least one reference signal after receiving the indication of the capability of the wireless node, the at least one reference signal being transmitted to assist the wireless node to determine updated beam weights to improve the maximum transmission power of the aggregated signal.

A method for wireless communication by a wireless node, comprising:

• receiving an indication of resources;
• estimating a maximum transmission power associated with an, wherein the aggregated signal is associated with a first beamformed signal configured for transmission via a first antenna module of a plurality of antenna modules of the wireless node and a second beamformed signal configured for transmission via a second antenna module of the plurality of antenna modules;
• and
• transmitting, via the at least one transceiver, the aggregated signal via the indicated resources and using beam weights associated with the plurality of antenna modules and using the estimated maximum transmission power.
