Electronic device performing handover and operation method thereof

A method of operating an electronic device comprising:

• receiving, from a serving cell, at least one radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration message including conditional reconfiguration information,
• based on the conditional reconfiguration information, performing measurement for at least one neighboring cell,
• when a result of the measurements for the at least one neighboring cell satisfies an execution condition identified by the conditional reconfiguration information, initiating a time to trigger (TTT) identified by the conditional reconfiguration information, wherein the TTT defines a time period during which the execution condition is to be satisfied in order to perform a procedure for a handover operation to a target cell,
• in case that a radio link failure associated with the serving cell is detected before the TTT expires, performing the at least one procedure for the handover operation to thea target cell regardless of an expiration of the TTT,
• wherein the target cell is identified based on the result of the measurements and the target cell satisfying the execution condition.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing instructions, wherein the instructions, when executed by at least one processor of an electronic device, cause the electronic device to perform operations comprising:

• receiving, from a serving cell, at least one radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration message including conditional reconfiguration information;
• based on the conditional reconfiguration information, performing measurement for at least one neighboring cell,
• when a result of the measurements for the at least one neighboring cell satisfies an execution condition identified by the conditional reconfiguration information, initiating a time to trigger (TTT) identified by the conditional reconfiguration information, wherein the TTT defines a time period during which the execution condition is to be satisfied in order to perform a procedure for a handover operation to a target cell,
• in case that a radio link failure associated with the serving cell is detected before the TTT expires, performing the at least one procedure for the handover operation to thea target cell regardless of an expiration of the TTT,
• wherein the target cell is identified based on the result of the measurements and the target cell satisfying the execution condition.
