Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. The present disclosure provides a method and device for changing a version of a PDCP layer device without loss. A method for a terminal of the present disclosure may comprise the steps of: receiving an RRC message including bearer configuration information; establishing an NR PDCP entity on the basis of NR PDCP configuration information; and setting an integrity protection function in an NR PDCP entity.
Claims14
A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- receiving, from a base station, a radio resource control (RRC) connection reconfiguration message including bearer configuration information, wherein the bearer configuration information includes packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) configuration information on at least one data radio bearer (DRB) and security algorithm information to be used for the at least one DRB;
- adding the at least one DRB based on the bearer configuration information and configuring a new radio (NR) PDCP entity of the at least one DRB based on the PDCP configuration information;
- and
- activating an integrity protection function associated with the NR PDCP entity of the at least one DRB based on the security algorithm information upon the addition of the at least one DRB,
- wherein the base station is a long-term evolution (LTE) base station different from an NR base station, and
- wherein the security algorithm information for all signaling radio bearers (SRBs) and all DRBs is signaled identically by the bearer configuration information.
A method performed by a base station in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- generating a radio resource control (RRC) connection reconfiguration message including bearer configuration information;
- and
- transmitting, to a user equipment (UE), the RRC connection reconfiguration message, wherein the bearer configuration information includes packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) configuration information on at least one data radio bearer (DRB) and security algorithm information to be used for the at least one DRB,
- wherein the bearer configuration information is configured for adding the at least one DRB and the PDCP configuration information is configured to configure a new radio (NR) PDCP entity of the at least one DRB,
- wherein the security algorithm information is configured to activate an integrity protection function associated with the NR PDCP entity of the at least one DRB upon the addition of the at least one DRB, and
- wherein the base station is a long-term evolution (LTE) base station different from an NR base station, and
- wherein the security algorithm information for all signaling radio bearers (SRBs) and all DRBs is signaled identically by the bearer configuration information.
A user equipment (UE) in a wireless system, comprising:
- a transceiver;
- and
- at least one processor coupled with the transceiver, wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
- receive, from a base station, a radio resource control (RRC) connection reconfiguration message including bearer configuration information, wherein the bearer configuration information includes packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) configuration information on at least one data radio bearer (DRB) and security algorithm information to be used for the at least one DRB,
- add the at least one DRB based on the bearer configuration information and configure a new radio (NR) PDCP entity of the at least one DRB based on the PDCP configuration information, and
- activate an integrity protection function associated with the NR PDCP entity of the at least one DRB based on the security algorithm information upon the addition of the at least one DRB,
- wherein the base station is a long-term evolution (LTE) base station different from an NR base station, and
- wherein the security algorithm information for all signaling radio bearers (SRBs) and all DRBs is signaled identically by the bearer configuration information.
A base station in a wireless communication system, the base station comprising:
- a transceiver;
- and
- at least one processor coupled with the transceiver, wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
- generate a radio resource control (RRC) connection reconfiguration message including bearer configuration information, and
- transmit, to a user equipment (UE), the RRC connection reconfiguration message,
- wherein the bearer configuration information includes packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) configuration information on at least one data radio bearer (DRB) and security algorithm information to be used for the at least one DRB, and
- wherein the bearer configuration information is used to add the at least one DRB and the PDCP configuration information is used to configure a new radio (NR) PDCP entity of the at least one DRB,
- wherein the security algorithm information is used to activate an integrity protection function associated with the NR PDCP entity of the at least one DRB upon the addition of the at least one DRB,
- wherein the base station is a long-term evolution (LTE) base station different from an NR base station, and
- wherein the security algorithm information for all signaling radio bearers (SRBs) and all DRBs is signaled identically by the bearer configuration information.
