Synchronizing image signal processing across multiple image sensors

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing one or more programs configured to be executed by one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for:

• receiving a first image of an environment from a first image sensor;
• receiving a second image, different than the first image, of the environment from a second image sensor;
• obtaining first image statistics information associated with the first image of the environment;
• obtaining second image statistics information associated with the second image of the environment;
• determining whether the first image sensor is currently occluded by comparing the first image statistics information with the second image statistics information;
• and
• synchronizing settings associated with the first and second images based on the comparison of the first image statistics information with the second image statistics information in response to determining that the first image sensor is currently occluded.

A method comprising:

• receiving a first image from a first image sensor;
• receiving a second image, different than the first image, from a second image sensor;
• obtaining first image statistics information associated with the first image and obtaining second image statistics information associated with the second image;
• determining whether the first image sensor is currently occluded by comparing the first image statistics information with the second image statistics information;
• and
• in response to determining that the first image sensor is currently occluded, synchronizing settings associated with the first and second images based on the second image statistics information.
