Abstract
Embodiments are directed towards a system and method for a cloud-based front end that may abstract and enable access to the underlying cloud-hosted elements and objects that may be part of a multi-tenant application, such as a search application. Search objects may be employed to access indexed objects. An amount of indexed data accessible to a user may be based on an index storage limit selected by the user, such that data that exceeds the index storage limit may continue to be indexed. Also, one or more projects can be elastically scaled for a user to provide resources that may meet the specific needs of each project.
Claims19
A computerized method comprising:
- receiving data;
- indexing the received data to produce indexed data;
- determining whether an addition of the indexed data to an index store exceeds a data volume limit;
- storing the indexed data into the index store when data currently stored in the index store along with the index data remains under the data volume limit;
- and
- when the data currently stored in the index store along with the index data exceeds the data volume limit:
- storing the indexed data into an overflow index store, wherein the indexed data stored within the overflow index store cannot be accessed until additional data volume is purchased, wherein each of the index store and the overflow index store comprise non-transitory media,
- receiving, at a graphical user interface, user input corresponding to a request to scale the data volume limit, and
- responsive to receipt of the request to scale the data volume limit, increasing a resource allocation of the index store and providing at least a portion of the indexed data stored in the overflow index store to the index store.
A system comprising:
- at least a processor;
- and
- a memory operating as a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium including software configured to cause the processor to perform operations including:
- receiving data;
- indexing the received data to produce indexed data;
- determining whether an addition of the indexed data to an index store exceeds a data volume limit;
- storing the indexed data into the index store when data currently stored in the index store along with the index data remains under the data volume limit;
- and
- when the data currently stored in the index store along with the index data exceeds the data volume limit:
- storing the indexed data into an overflow index store, wherein the indexed data stored within the overflow index store cannot be accessed until additional data volume is purchased, wherein each of the index store and the overflow index store comprise non-transitory media,
- receiving, at a graphical user interface, user input corresponding to a request to scale the data volume limit, and
- responsive to receipt of the request to scale the data volume limit, increasing a resource allocation of the index store and providing at least a portion of the indexed data stored in the overflow index store to the index store.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium having stored thereon instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations including:
- receiving data;
- indexing the received data to produce indexed data;
- determining whether an addition of the indexed data to an index store exceeds a data volume limit;
- storing the indexed data into the index store when data currently stored in the index store along with the index data remains under the data volume limit;
- and
- when the data currently stored in the index store along with the index data exceeds the data volume limit:
- storing the indexed data into an overflow index store, wherein the indexed data stored within the overflow index store cannot be accessed until additional data volume is purchased, wherein each of the index store and the overflow index store comprise non-transitory media,
- receiving, at a graphical user interface, user input corresponding to a request to scale the data volume limit, and
- responsive to receipt of the request to scale the data volume limit, increasing a resource allocation of the index store and providing at least a portion of the indexed data stored in the overflow index store to the index store.
