Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. Specifically, the present disclosure relates to a method and an apparatus for controlling beam failure detection.
Claims16
A method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- receiving, from a base station, a radio resource control (RRC) message configuring a plurality of beam failure detection (BFD) sets, wherein at least one BFD reference signal (BFD-RS) of a BFD set among the plurality of BFD sets is activated if a number of the at least one BFD-RS of the BFD set is smaller than or equal to a threshold value, and the at least one BFD-RS of the BFD set among the plurality of BFD sets is deactivated if the number of the at least one BFD-RS of the BFD set is larger than the threshold value;
- and
- receiving, from the base station, a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) for indicating a first updated BFD-RS for a first BFD set among the plurality of BFD sets and a second updated BFD-RS for a second BFD set among the plurality of BFD sets,
- wherein the MAC CE includes a first BFD-RS identifier (ID) for the first BFD set, a first S field indicating whether a second BFD-RS ID is present for the first BFD set, a first BFD-RS ID for the second BFD set, and a second S field indicating whether a second BFD-RS ID is present for the second BFD set,
- wherein the MAC CE includes the second BFD-RS ID for the first BFD set if a bit of the first S field is set to 1 and the MAC CE does not include the second BFD-RS ID for the first BFD set if the bit of the first S field is set to 0, and
- wherein the MAC CE includes the second BFD-RS ID for the second BFD set if a bit of the second S field is set to 1 and the MAC CE does not include the second BFD-RS ID for the second BFD set if the bit of the second S field is set to 0.
