Abstract
An antenna radiating element includes an antenna portion and a reflector. The antenna portion includes two bow-tie antennas arranged in a cross shape. The reflector includes a tubular portion having a cross-sectional shape, which is a regular octagon, in a cross-section orthogonal to an axial direction, a bottom portion closing one end part in the axial direction of the tubular portion, and an opening portion provided at an end part opposite to the one end part of the tubular portion. The antenna portion is positioned in the vicinity of the opening portion.
Claims8
An antenna radiating element comprising:
- an antenna portion including first and second bow-tie antennas arranged in a cross shape;
- and
- a reflector,
- wherein:
- the reflector includes:
- a tubular portion having a cross-sectional shape, which is a regular octagon, in a cross-section orthogonal to an axial direction,
- a bottom portion closing one end part in the axial direction of the tubular portion, and
- an opening portion provided at an end part opposite to the one end part of the tubular portion,
- the antenna portion is positioned in a vicinity of the opening portion and outside of the opening portion such that a gap exists between the antenna portion and the tubular portion of the reflector, a distance in the axial direction between the opposite end part of the tubular portion of the reflector being equal to or greater than λ/10 and equal to or less than λ/6, and λ is a wavelength corresponding to a resonance frequency of the antenna radiating element.
