Abstract
An electrode including an electrode active material sheet including an electrode active material and a binder polymer; and a current collector having a mesh structure. At least a part of the mesh structure is present in the electrode active material sheet, and the binder polymer has a thermal decomposition temperature ranging from 270 °C to 315 °C.
Claims2
A method of manufacturing an electrode comprising an electrode active material sheet comprising an electrode active material and a binder polymer, and a current collector having a mesh structure,
- wherein at least a part of the mesh structure is present in the electrode active material sheet,
- wherein the binder polymer has a thermal decomposition temperature ranging from 270° C. to 315° C.,
- wherein the binder polymer comprises a first binder polymer and a second binder polymer,
- wherein the binder polymer comprises the first binder polymer and the second binder polymer in a weight ratio of 85:15 to 92.5:7.5, and
- wherein the first binder polymer consists of styrene-butadiene rubber, and the second binder polymer comprises polytetrafluoroethylene,
- the method comprising:
- preparing the current collector having the mesh structure and the electrode active material sheet comprising the electrode active material and the binder polymer;
- and
- placing the electrode active material sheet on the current collector and applying pressure to insert at least a part of the mesh structure into the electrode active material sheet,
- wherein the electrode active material sheet is prepared by a method including:
- (a) mixing the electrode active material and the binder polymer to form a granular composite;
- (b) sieving the granular composite;
- and
- (c) applying pressure to the granular composite to form the electrode active material sheet.
