Electrode active composition, preparation method thereof, electrode, battery, and apparatus

A method for preparing an electrode active composition of a battery, the method comprising:

• providing a plurality of first particles of lithium cobalt oxide, the plurality of first particles comprising a plurality of large-particle-size lithium cobalt oxide (LLCO) particles and a plurality of small-particle-size lithium cobalt oxide (SLCO) particles, wherein the LLCO particles have a Dv50 of 17 μm to 21 μm, a Dv10 of 10.1 μm to 13.1 μm, and a Dv90 of 28 μm to 33.2 μm, the SLCO particles have a Dv50 of 4 μm to 8 μm, a Dv10 of 2.5 μm to 3.8 μm, and a Dv90 of 9.3 μm to 11 μm;
• providing a plurality of second particles comprising a core made of a ternary material;
• and
• mixing the plurality of first particles and the plurality of second particles;
• wherein,
• a weight percentage of the second particles is 10 wt % to 50 wt %, based on a total weight of the electrode active composition,
• the plurality of first particles of lithium cobalt oxide are primary particles,
• at least a portion of the plurality of second particles are primary particles,
• wherein a ratio in number of the first particles of lithium cobalt oxide having a particle size greater than 11 μm to the first particles of lithium cobalt oxide having a particle size less than 6 μm is 0.2-4.8, and a summed number of the first particles of lithium cobalt oxide having a particle size greater than 11 μm and the first particles of lithium cobalt oxide having a particle size less than 6 μm accounts for more than 90% of a total number of the first particles.
