Continuously grounded travel gate system, barrier system and related methods

Abstract

The invention includes a traveling gate grounding assembly having a traveling gate, a gate panel, and a conducting cable extending between attachment points on the gate panel. The traveling gate is electrically connected to the conducting cable. A floating ground having a grounding pulley, electrically connectable to a ground line is included. The conducting cable is slideably engaged with a wheel or sheave of the grounding pulley and electrically connectable to a ground line via the grounding pulley. Described also are traveling gate grounding systems to retrofit to a gate panel, including a conducting cable, a fastener for securing the conducting cable to a gate panel and a floating ground having the grounding pulley. The wheel or sheave when slideably engaged with the conducting pulley, is simultaneously electrically connectable to a ground line and the conducting cable. In use, the gate panel is in electrical communication with the floating ground.
