Systems and methods for retrieving part service history during servicing of a medical device

A medical device maintenance system, comprising:

• a secure connection to a medical device wherein information from the medical device is transmitted;
• a database storing data transmitted from the medical device;
• an interface configured to read any existing service tags on components of the medical device;
• an interface for generating a service report which includes information entered by a service engineer, a portion of the information stored in the database that was transmitted from the medical device, and any information read from the existing service tags;
• a new service tag generator, where portion of the service report generated are assigned to an associated component based on a relevance to the associated component;
• and
• a printing device configured to print a service tag to be affixed to the associated component of an associated medical device, the service tag having encoded data defined by the service tag generator;
• wherein the service tag is configured to be affixed to the associated component of the associated medical device.
