Concurrent control for share quota for strict limits in realtime charging

A system for concurrent resource sharing, the system comprising:

• a memory configured to store instructions;
• and
• at least one processor communicatively coupled to the memory and configured to execute the instructions to:
• receive, from a first requesting device for a first session of a shared resource plan, a request for a first resource request amount;
• reserve, for the first session, a first reserved resource amount from a resource quota of the shared resource plan based on the first request resource amount;
• receive, from a second requesting device, a termination message for a second session on the share resource plan, the termination message comprising a resource usage amount to be committed from the resource quota,
• determine that the resource quota is exceeded based on at least the first reserved resource amount;
• based on the determination and responsive to the termination message, allocate least a portion of the first reserved resource amount reserved for the first session to the resource usage amount of the second session;
• and
• update the shared resource plan based on the allocation of the at least a portion of the first reserved resource amount.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to perform a method comprising:

• receiving a request to terminate a first session on a resource plan, the request comprising information indicative of an amount of resources consumed during the first session;
• responsive to the request, determining that the first session is concurrent with a second session on the resource plan, wherein an amount of resource reserved from a resource quota of the resource plan is reserved to the second session prior to receiving the request to terminate the first session;
• based on the determination, executing a concurrent resource sharing logic that shifts the amount of resources reserved for the second session to the amount of resources consumed during the first session;
• and
• terminating the first session based on the amount of resource reserved shifted to the first session.
