Ergonomic digital collaborative workspace apparatuses, methods and systems

A server including one or more processors coupled to memory, the memory being loaded with computer instructions that, when executed on the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to implement actions comprising:

• receiving, at the server and from a first client, first viewport position coordinates identifying a first area in a shared digital whiteboard;
• receiving, at the server and from a second client, second viewport position coordinates identifying a second area in the shared digital whiteboard, the first area and the second area being at least partially non-overlapping areas in the shared digital whiteboard;
• providing, to the first client during a collaboration session between the first client and the second client, data identifying a first object having position coordinates within the first area of the shared digital whiteboard, without providing, to the first client, data representing portions of objects that (i) have position coordinates outside the first area and (ii) remain within the shared digital whiteboard;
• and
• providing, to the second client during the collaboration session, data identifying a second object having position coordinates within the second area of the shared digital whiteboard, without providing, to the second client, data representing portions of objects that (i) have position coordinates outside the second area and (ii) remain within the shared digital whiteboard.

A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium having computer instructions recorded thereon, the computer instructions, when executed by one or more processors, causing the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

• receiving, at a server and from a first client, first viewport position coordinates identifying a first area in a shared digital whiteboard;
• receiving, at the server and from a second client, second viewport position coordinates identifying a second area in the shared digital whiteboard, the first area and the second area being at least partially non-overlapping areas in the shared digital whiteboard;
• providing, to the first client during a collaboration session between the first client and the second client, data identifying a first object having position coordinates within the first area of the shared digital whiteboard, without providing, to the first client, data representing portions of objects that (i) have position coordinates outside the first area and (ii) remain within the shared digital whiteboard;
• and
• providing, to the second client during the collaboration session, data identifying a second object having position coordinates within the second area of the shared digital whiteboard, without providing, to the second client, data representing portions of objects that (i) have position coordinates outside the second area and (ii) remain within the shared digital whiteboard.

A method for operating a client, comprising:

• establishing, using a first client and a second client, a whiteboarding session between (i) a server storing data for a shared digital whiteboard and (ii) both the first client and the second client;
• transmitting, from the first client to the server, first viewport position coordinates identifying a first area in the shared digital whiteboard;
• transmitting, from the second client, second viewport position coordinates identifying a second area in the shared digital whiteboard, the first area and the second area being at least partially non-overlapping areas in the shared digital whiteboard;
• accessing, at the first client, the shared digital whiteboard and data identifying a first object having position coordinates within the first area of the shared digital whiteboard, wherein the data does not include data representing portions of objects that (i) have position coordinates outside the first area and (ii) remain within the shared digital whiteboard;
• and
• displaying data depicting the first area including the first object.
