Abstract
The disclosure configures a memory sub-system controller to optimize initialization of a memory sub-system based on duration of power cycle. The controller initiates memory initialization routine for starting up a memory sub-system after a power loss event. The controller, as part of executing the memory initialization routine, determines that the memory sub-system has previously lost power for a period of time prior to initiating the memory initialization routine. The controller determines whether the period of time transgresses a threshold period of power loss and selectively executes a first set of operations as part of the memory initialization routine in response to determining whether the period of time transgresses the threshold period of power loss.
Claims20
A system comprising:
- a set of memory components of a memory sub-system;
- and
- at least one processing device operatively coupled to the set of memory components, the at least one processing device configured to perform operations comprising:
- initiating memory initialization routine for starting up the memory sub-system after a power loss event;
- as part of executing the memory initialization routine, determining that the memory sub-system has previously lost power for a period of time prior to initiating the memory initialization routine;
- determining whether the period of time transgresses a threshold period of power loss;
- and
- selectively executing a first set of operations as part of the memory initialization routine in response to determining whether the period of time transgresses the threshold period of power loss.
A method comprising:
- initiating memory initialization routine for starting up a memory sub-system after a power loss event;
- as part of executing the memory initialization routine, determining that the memory sub-system has previously lost power for a period of time prior to initiating the memory initialization routine;
- determining whether the period of time transgresses a threshold period of power loss;
- and
- selectively executing a first set of operations as part of the memory initialization routine in response to determining whether the period of time transgresses the threshold period of power loss.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when executed by at least one processing device, cause the at least one processing device to perform operations comprising:
- initiating memory initialization routine for starting up a memory sub-system after a power loss event;
- as part of executing the memory initialization routine, determining that the memory sub-system has previously lost power for a period of time prior to initiating the memory initialization routine;
- determining whether the period of time transgresses a threshold period of power loss;
- and
- selectively executing a first set of operations as part of the memory initialization routine in response to determining whether the period of time transgresses the threshold period of power loss.
